If you and a group of friends want insurance so you can enjoy playing a team sport together, even if you’re not an official or formal team, we’ve got you covered. Our Teams policy is designed for organised groups like cheerleading squads, but it works just as well for an informal football team, a casual weekly netball group, or any bunch of friends who simply want to play a sport safely with proper protection in place - even if you’re not a registered team.
You would need a main policyholder who is responsible for the administration & payment for the policy. All you need then is a team name, and to keep a register of when, where & who is playing at each session as you will be required to present this in the event of a claim.
Our teams policy would cover all members of the named team and their coach (if the team has one) while training or competing together.
What’s included:
- Cover for team members and the team’s coach (the coach is insured only to coach the team named on the policy)
- Public Liability protection if a team member or coach is sued for injuring a third party or damaging third party property
- Cover for legal costs such as solicitor fees, court fees and compensation
Personal Accident, Loss of Earnings, Employer’s Liability and Sports Equipment cover for all named team members and the team’s coach.
If you’re unsure which level of cover to choose, it’s always worth checking with the venues where you plan to train or play. Many facilities have their own insurance requirements and may ask you to show proof of a specific level of cover before you can use their space.
This way, you and your friends can focus on enjoying the game, knowing you’ve got the right protection behind you.
