If you and a group of friends need cover to play a team sport but you are not a proper team then we can still provide cover under one of our Teams' policies. This kind of policy is designed for teams of athletes e.g. Cheerleading teams, but the cover is also designed to cover you if you and a group of friends need cover for example to play football together as an informal team.
Here is a breakdown of what this would cover:
This will provide cover for the members of that team to train or play the sport together. This will also provide cover for the coach of that team (if applicable); however, they will only be insured to coach the named team on the policy. Public Liability cover under a teams' policy will provide cover if a member of the team or coach was to be sued for causing injury to a third party, or damaging third party property. It would provide cover for court fees, solicitor fees and compensation.
Additional covers are also available for Personal Accident, Loss of Earnings and Sports Equipment cover. Any cover that you select with the policy would apply to all members of the team so that you are all covered at the same level.
You may need to select more than one team if you have more than one team in your club for example if you have an under 16s group and over 16s group, this would be 2 teams, Or if the group splits into 2 teams to play against each other, which would also be 2 teams.
If you are not sure what level of cover to select for your team, please check the requirements of any venues you wish to train/play at as they may request that you provide proof of having a specific level of cover to use their facility.
